Living on Skye all year round, watching the changing seasons, inspired me at first to paint pictures for people, memories to treasure when their holiday was over. And then I thought, how much more rewarding for the owners of those pictures if they could be, not just observers of what I had done, but participants in the creative process themselves. That's how my cross stitch designs began.
Every one has been designed and stitched by myself, I do not simply take photographs and have the computer turn them into charts. I work each design like a painting, with the added complication that every brush stroke, or in this case stitch, has to be recorded to produce the finished chart. In cross stitch we have an excellent medium for reproduction. If your stitching is reasonably neat and accurate, you can achieve a finished work of art that is every bit as good as the original.
I am sorry to announce that it is no longer possible to buy the charts for these designs from this website. I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, but I fear the time has come to pack in before either myself or my equipment falls apart from age or infirmity!
A big thank you to all my customers who have said such kind things about the designs over the years.
For the foreseeable future, the website will remain here, but for display only.
Best wishes to all of you.
